About the Author
Physician, pastor's wife, parent, pioneer, pilgrim... After years of ordinary internal medicine practice, Dr. Carolyn Klaus, with others from her church, founded Esperanza Health Center in inner city Philadelphia. For her work there the Christian Medical and Dental Association named her Missionary of the Year in 1998. She has been a frequent conference speaker and has taught on four continents. She now serves on the staff of Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN, and is also Executive Director of Hope In View, Inc., an organization which mobilizes resources to fight global AIDS.
